No pumping of water to Polokwane due to electrical challenges, says Municipality
POLOKWANE – There is currently no pumping of water to Polokwane from Olifantspoort plant, says the Polokwane Municipality.
Electrical challenges which arose early on Wednesday night were experienced at Pump Station 3 and according to Lepelle Northern Water, Eskom has been informed of the challenge.
“All areas of supply including the rural areas, parts of the city area and Seshego are affected. The Municipality will deploy water tankers to areas experiencing shortages,” says spokesperson, Thipa Selela.
Pumping will resume once electrical issues have been resolved and an update will be provided as received.
“In the meantime, areas that are receiving water are urged to use water sparingly as most of the reservoirs are critically low,” Selela concluded.
