POLOKWANE – The 26-year-old businesswoman and Occupational Health and Safety officer, said although things have finally come together, it was always smooth sailing as she was preparing to open for business.
The mother of two said that owning a nail bar initially wasn’t really a dream of hers and she only got started during her second pregnancy, when she couldn’t go and have her nails done.

“I bought everything I needed and did my own nails and the outcome was actually good. I started receiving compliments and people became interested in how I do my nails which was how I realised that I might be on to something,” she said.
Last year in October, she was fed up with having to constantly be on site, dressed down and getting dirty. She decided that she would open her own nail bar and become an occupational health and safety officer.

She pitched the nail bar idea to her fiance who was 100% on board and supported her. She said she faced some challenges as she was setting up the business, because she is a perfectionist and wants everything to be perfect.
“I had moments where I felt like things weren’t coming together as they should. I remember one morning I felt overwhelmed and woke bawling my eyes out because I could not find the perfect couches. I had searched literally everywhere and the ones I could find weren’t in the right colour,” she explained.
Motsifane overcame all that and she is thankful for the support she received from family and friends because although she was prepared as the launch approached, she was still quite anxious. She has big dreams for her nail parlour.
“It has become my third baby. I plan to include a massage parlour and hair stations in future. I’d like it to become an intimate spa,” she said. She also added that she would also like to branch out and have a nail bar kiosk at the mall soon.
