Thirteen female cooperatives have been tasked to brew 12 000 litres of marula beer to be consumed by revellers during the Marula’s Festival’s Jazz and Gospel open concerts set for 2 March at Impala Park Stadium in Phalaborwa.
Among the artists set to perform are Thandizwa Mazwai, Judith Sephuma, Selaelo Selota and Jonas Gwangwa.
Over 14 000 revellers from different provinces in the country, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe are expected at the event.
Marula Festival manager, Moses Ngobeni spoke of a diverse programme when he said they will be having a bulletjie rugby event, marathon and off-road challenge ahead of the concerts. “We are ready for the event and we are calling everyone to come and enjoy the festivities.”
