POLOKWANE – Limpopo police’s specialised stock theft unit continue the fight against stock theft which has resulted in the arrest of three men for suspected stolen live stock (cattle).

Constable Mienkie Ramakgoakgoa, spokesperson for the police, says the arrests emanates from a tip off from the community about a Ford Ranger bakkie carrying cattle along the R71 from Tzaneen to Polokwane.
“Police reacted swiftly to the information and enroute, spotted a vehicle matching the description received, along the road next to Mall of the North. The vehicle was then pulled off the road and police searched the vehicle and trailer and found three men inside the car seven suspected stolen cattle in the trailer,” she explained.
When approached by police, the suspects failed to produce necessary documents and the origin of the cattle and were arrested on the spot.
The suspects will appear before the the Polokwane Magistrate Court on possession of suspected stolen stock, soon.
Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner, Major Jan Scheepers, praised the dedicated police who continue to perform their expected duties, while working together with members of the society to battle against criminality.
