Cable theft leads to power outages in Bendor, Dalmada and Seshego Zone 6

The cable theft has also affected the Dalmada Water Purification Plant resulting in higher areas such as Flora Park, Serala View, Ster Park and Bendor experiencing persistent water shortages.

POLOKWANE – The municipality is currently working on restoring power supply to Bendor, Seshego Zone 6 and the Dalmada area following cable theft.

This, while the city grapples with load shedding too.

Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala says this has also affected the Dalmada Water Purification Plant resulting in higher areas such as Flora Park, Serala View, Ster Park and Bendor experiencing persistent water shortages.
 
“It has come to the attention of the municipality that izinyokas are taking advantage of loadshedding by stealing cables at night, especially when the electricity goes off. Cable theft is a criminal offence punishable by law. The municipality, therefore, appeals to anyone to assist with information that can lead to the arrest of those involved by contacting the police,” he concluded.
