POLOWKANE – More details have emerged regarding a shooting that took place in Bendor on Wednesday night, 6 February.

According to police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, a 42-year-old Indian businessman alleged leaving his work place in Nirvana at around 18:00 last night. The man was on Bendor Drive when he saw a white Np 200 bakkie with four unknown men at the back of the bakkie.

“The suspects were armed and began shooting at his vehicle but he continued driving till he got to an estate in the area. He ran over the boom gate but the suspects followed him,” Ngoepe explained.  The man managed to run on foot and hide.

Police say no-one was injured during the incident and the motive of the shooting is not clear at this stage but ongoing police investigations will tell.

“No arrests have been made and the suspects are unknown at this stage,” Ngoepe concluded.
