POLOKWANE – Many elderly people do not celebrate the day and have never done it, but people living at Martha Hofmeyr Old Age Home really appreciate those who think of them on 14 February. It makes them feel loved and valued. Some residents said they used to celebrate the day, but others said every day with their spouses was a Valentine’s Day.
Commercialised or not, celebrating Valentine’s Day is very much alive and well and popular, even among the older generation. And, as one golden oldie said: “ It’s good to love, but better to be loved.”
