POLOKWANE – When you think of romance, couples like Romeo and Juliet, Cleopatra and Mark Antony or even Napoleon and Josephine come to mind. These days romance seems to have taken a back step and seems to have gone more digital than physical.

Review therefore came up with a few romantic ideas for a date this Valentine’s Day, especially if it is a first date.
• Visit a local restaurant. Ambiance is offering a Valentine’s Day breakfast fit for a King and Queen, while Mikes Kitchen will be setting out fairy lights to create a romantic atmosphere.
• Since Valentine’s Day is mid-month, money might be tight. Set up fairy lights in your own or a friends garden, lay out a blanket and pack a picnic basket with finger foods, something to drink and create photo opportunities.
• If you like a little bit of exercising, borrow, beg or steal two bikes and go for an afternoon ride in the Polokwane Game Reserve, the view will make for a memorable Valentine’s Day!
• If you have dogs, take them for a walk or a play in a park together. This might help to break the ice and start a conversation.
• Meet to watch the sunrise or sunset, this way you can share a special time of the day and get to know each other.
