Watch as Taxila peer promoters take you step-by-step through the process of donating blood

Taxila Secondary school started the year on a healthy note, by hosting their first blood drive fr the year on Thursday, 31 February.

POLOKWANE – Peer Promoters from the school were also there to educate and encourage their fellow learners to be part of this life saving initiative.

They are regular blood donors whose duty is educating fellow learners on the importance of donating blood, and to assist SANBS at blood drives at their their school. They are equipped with all relevant information and facts needed for them to perform their tasks as stipulated by the blood drive coordinator.

“We are taught about the individual blood groups, the minimum criteria for one to donate blood as well as the series of channels and tests a donor must go through to be declared eligible,” explained Yumna Carrim, gr 10 learner from Taxila Secondary school and  a member of the SANBS Peer Promoters Group.

Watch as peer promoters, Bornwise Segooa, Sylverne Willemse, Yumna Carrim, Mapula Makgopa and Rammala Mochadibana explain the simple steps one will go through when donating blood.
