MEC Makhurupetje welcomes sentencing of ‘N1 robber’

Silent Komani, arrested in connection with a spate of robberies along the N1, was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

LIMPOPO – Transport and Community Safety MEC Makoma Makhurupetje has welcomed the recent sentencing handed to Silent Komani who was part of group who have been terrorising people along the N1 between October to December.

“For some time now, road users and commuters along the N1 have been subjected to spates of robberies led by unknown people. The destruction left by these bandits of scoundrels has caused untold fear, harm and suffering to many travellers on this road,” said MEC Makhurupetje.

“The arrest and sentencing of Silent Komani will send a strong message to other criminals who may still be planning to conduct similar robberies on any part of Limpopo road,” MEC Makhurupetje concluded.
