ANC member critical in hospital after being shot in his home in Thohoyandou

Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect(s) involved in the shooting.

LIMPOPO – The ANC in Limpopo have condemned the shooting of Timson Tshililo, who is both a member of the ANC and a leader of NEHAWU.

Tshililo was shot by an unknown suspect upon entering his home and is currently in a critical condition.

The ANC’s provincial secretary, Soviet Lekganyane says the ANC condemns what they are calling a “cowardly act of violence against ANC members and leadership of the labour movement.”

LIMPOPO – Police are calling on members of the public to come forward with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for attempting to murder a 50-year-old man.

According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the incident happened last night in the Makwarela section, in Thohoyandou.

“The victim was allegedly shot by an unknown suspect upon entering his home. The suspect then fled from the scene after the shooting and the victim was taken to hospital,” he added.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, has already established a task team to investigate the case.

“Anyone with information is requested to contact Captain Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501 or the police toll-free number 0860010111. The motive for this incident is unknown at this stage but police investigations continue,” he concluded.
