Police have called on communities to come forward with infor mation that might lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting of 50-year-old Timson Tshililo, at Makwarela in Thohoyandou last night (Thursday).
According to information Tshililo is a leader of South African Municipal Workers’ Union (Samwu).
Provincial Police Communications Head Motlafela Mojapelo confirmed the attempt on Tshililo’s life and said the incident occurred at approximately 20:00 when he was shot while entering his home. The suspect(s) fled the scene after the shooting. The victim was taken to hospital.
Mojapelo indicated that Provincial Police Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba has already established a task team to investigate the case.
