Athletes and coaches from independent primary schools in Polokwane were hard at work at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday to select the best possible team to represent the schools at the upcoming Polokwane Circuit athletics meeting.
The participating schools were Akademie Reformia, Curro Heuwelkruin Independent School, Mitchell House, Jabez Christian Academy, Eagles Nest Christian School, PEPPS and Northview Christian Academy.
Head of sport at PEPPS, Nico Loots said the day also gave the athletes an opportunity to test their agility, strength and show their athleticism. “This was our first athletics meeting of the year primarily aimed at selecting a team that will represent the independent primary schools at the Polokwane circuit athletic meeting scheduled before the end of this month. We are happy with the condition of the athletes and I think we can come out with a team that will compete successfully at the event,” concluded Loots.
At the time of going to press the team had not been finalised.
