Mitchell House opened the first phase of the school’s recently completed Early Childhood Development Centre last Wednesday. The facility can cater for 125 learners in Grades 000, 00 and 0.
Headmaster Andrew Cook said the entire project, costing about R16 million, was expected to be completed next month with the official opening expected on 8 February.
He further said learners, who are currently catered for at the centre would be taught and monitored by six educators and four interns and reiterated that they were happy to accommodate learners in the state-of-the-art building with a lot of educational tools and toys.
Achsah Phoshoko, Director of Marketing at Mitchell House highlighted that the centre, named ‘Squirrel’s Nest’, accommodates children between the ages of four and six.
She further indicated that children were happy to start the school year in a new building, adding that parents were treated to breakfast while they tour the building. Phoshoko concluded by saying the project was progressing well and they couldn’t wait for the official opening.
