Deputy director’s body dumped – search on for suspects, vehicles

While Police continue their search for the suspects in the alleged killing and subsequent dumping of Marks Rambau’s body they have also extended their search to include the victim’s two vehicles.
The body of Rambau, 48, a Deputy Director at the Department of Transport and Community Safety, was found among vegetation adjacent to the Webster Street extension last Tuesday evening.
Rambau’s blue Volkswagen Polo with registration BLM 773 L and beige Jeep Wrangler (CJP 881 L) are missing. It is suspected that the Polo might have been the same vehicle used during the dumping of the body.
Police set aside a R50 000 reward for any information that might lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of the suspects.
A security guard at a nearby premises allegedly saw a blue VW Polo stopping in the street. According to Provincial Police Communications Head, Motlafela Mojapelo a man emerged from the vehicle and dragged something wrapped in plastic into the bush before returning to the vehicle. The man later emerged with a woman, returned to where the plastic bag had been dumped and set it alight before leaving, according to Mojapelo.
The Police were informed and found the partially burnt body of Rambau in the bag.
Meanwhile, condolences were received from the African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo describing Rambau as a dedicated and reliable resource within a pool of ANC activists in the province who, at the time of his untimely demise, was intensely involved as part of the ANC’s elections machinery.
A media statement issued by ANC Provincial Secretary Soviet Lekganyane stated that Rambau was an administrator of the ANC Youth League before joining the Provincial Government where he served in various capacities in different departments. The South African Communist Party in Limpopo also mourned the death of Rambau described as a humble servant, committed revolutionary and outstanding administrator of the ANC.
