Polokwane mother and two teenagers robbed, carjacked at gunpoint

The three victims were accosted outside a house in Bendor on Friday evening.

POLOKWANE – Five unknown men held the 50-year-old mother, her teenage son and his friend, at gun point, ordered them into the house and robbed their of various belongings before fleeing the scene in the victim’s BMW X6 and their getaway vehicle a silver grey BMW.

The husband of the victim who had just arrived home, saw them fleeing in his wife’s vehicle and followed them until he managed to stop them by bumping into the right-hand side of the suspect’s vehicle.

According to Brigadier Motlefela Mojapelo, Spokesperson for the police, the suspects robbed the victims of a BMW X6, wedding ring, cellphone, plasma TV set, jewelry camera and laptop. The husband of the victim arrived home and after realising what had happeend, gave chase until the suspects abandoned their silver grey BMW and fled in the victim’s BMW X6, he added

The BMW X6 was later found abandoned in Seshego. A TV set was also recovered on the scene, Mojapelo confirmed.

A massive manhunt for suspects has since been launched and the police urge anyone with  information  to contact the nearest police station or call the toll free number 0860010111.
