Noorderland High School’s Inter House athletics meeting on Friday was characterised by intense competition among the athletes belonging to the Red, Yellow and Blue teams.
The school is preparing for the upcoming schools athletics season with their first competition planned for 1 February in Louis Trichardt.
Educator Girlina Mashego emphasised that they were aiming to finish on the first spot at the end of the season. She urged athletes to have a sports spirit and work hard to outcompete the opponents. Mashego added that an active body helps the mind to function well and would assist one to excel in the classroom. She therefore encouraged learners to participate in various sporting codes, not only during the athletics season but as often as possible to stay fit and healthy. Results for the challenge were being awaited at the time of going to press.
