Register to make your mark in May elections

Political parties are gearing up for the national and provincial elections in May this year. Your last chance to register in order to vote is on 26 and 27 January.

LIMPOPO – If there was ever an important election, it would be this one, says Marcelle Maritz, Limpopo Leader of the Freedom Front Plus (FF+). “It is of utmost importance that everyone who is 18 years of age and older to register to vote. Do not let political parties keep you from making the right decision with nice talks and promises. Vote for the party that will fight for your rights, for your race, culture, language and faith, for your children and their descendants’ future in the country and for equality in all aspects.”

The Spokesperson for the Inkhata Freedom Party (IFP), Mkhuleko Hlengwa, says that this years’ elections are vital for the future of South Africa.

“This election is about progress or the lack thereof what South Africa has made since the previous election. It is the voters’ responsibility to build a prosperous future for them by voting right.”

Korny Dekker, Democratic Alliance (DA) Ward Councillor in the Mogalakwena Municipality also highlights the importance of this upcoming election.

“This is probably one of the most important elections in South Africa ever; it is of utmost importance that we must all ensure that we are registered at the correct voting stations, and that all the relevant details are on the voters’ roll. Register for change that builds one South Africa for all.”

To register, go to your nearest voting station on the said dates between 08:00 and 17:00. Take along your valid identification book, card or temporary certificate. It is important to note that any other form of identification will not be accepted.
