Five suspects arrested for stock theft in the Matlala area

Nine live sheep and two carcasses were recovered during the arrest

POLOKWANE – In a concerted effort to deal with incidents of crime head-on, radical strategies through joint operations by different police stations and units in various clusters continue to produce positive and meaningful results, says police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

This, after a tactical intelligence joint operation in the Matlala policing area led to the arrest of five suspects. The operation was aimed at incidents of stock theft in and around the Seshego Cluster

“During this operation, five suspects were arrested for possession of suspected stolen stock and stock theft. Nine live sheep and two carcasses were recovered during the arrest,” Ngoepe said.

The Nissan hardbody double cab, which was used to transport the animals, was also confiscated.

“The suspects may be linked to other cases of stock theft in the Seshego and Polokwane clusters and will appear before the Matlala Magistrate Court, soon,” he concluded.
