The Madigoe family from Seleteng, Ga-Mphahlele on Saturday celebrated the life of the oldest member of their family, Raphahle Madigoe who recently died at the age of 132.
She was buried at the Ga-Lehlaga cemetery on Saturday.
According to Modipadi Phasha, great-great granddaughter, Madigoe was born on 6 November in 1886 and is survived by six children, 30 grandchildren, 79 great grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren.
“Normally funerals are characterised by a sombre mood and tears but we rejoiced and celebrated her amazing and beautiful life. Her life was worth celebrating. She lived for more than 13 decades. She was exemplary and we learnt a lot from her. She was very informative and advocated respect, love and a healthy lifestyle.
“She used to tell us that the only way to live longer was to respect and love everyone, pray every day and live a healthy lifestyle,” Phasha said.
