Muni distances itself from “fake ticket scam” in Polokwane
The Polokwane Municipality advises residents to ignore the fake traffic tickets which are being distributed across the city
POLOKWANE – According to the municipality these fake traffic tickets are being placed by a local company or agent. “These tickets which amount to R5 000 are being placed on the windscreens of parked vehicles and has caused much confusion among our clients. We further emphasise and distance ourselves from this alleged scam and would like to remind residents that traffic fines are only issued by municipal traffic officers and are to be paid at the traffic and licensing stations,” the municipality said.
The municipality has received numerous phone calls regarding this “scam” and is currently investigating into the matter.
