Fedsas celebrates 25th anniversary

The Federation of Governing Bodies of South African Schools (Fedsas) Limpopo members recently represented the province at a gala dinner in Bloemfontein in celebration of their 25th anniversary as reliable and respected education partner, in the company of Minister of Basic Education Angie Motshekga.
A press release by Fedsas Chief Executive Officer, Paul Colditz reads that Motshekga had referred to Fedsas as a reliable and respected education partner and that cooperation of such nature key is to getting parents and the broader school community involved in education.
Motshekga in her address reportedly further praised Fedsas for the work the organisation does to equip school governing bodies and, by extension, school communities.
Fedsas National Chairperson Erhard Wolf indicated that Fedsas and the department shared the view that education played an important role in a developing society.
“Fedsas has always been of the opinion that cooperation between role players is the key to success. It is therefore good to hear that Motshekga shares our view and that she appreciates Fedsas role in communities,” Wolf is quoted to have said.
Colditz reportedly referred to education as a team sport: “When role players work together at policy and management level, cooperation between parents and school governing bodies as well as schools and school communities will follow. Our vision is to promote quality education in public schools and it guides all our decisions and activities.
Fedsas is successful as a leader in school governance and the organisation enjoys the respect of other role players in education,” the statement read.
