Westenburg police are seeking this man’s assistance in a sexual assault case

Police believe this man, who identified himself as 'Mr Moodley' can assist in a case of sexual assault against an 18-year-old girl

POLOKWANE – Police in Westernburg have launched a manhunt for a suspect involved in the recent sexual assault of an 18-year-old school girl.

Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the incident allegedly took place a few kilometres on the Kushcke road in the Westenburg policing area, after the victim was offered a lift by the suspect.

“Along the way, the suspect, who only identified himself as ‘Mr Moodley’, began fondling the victim without her consent. The suspect stopped the vehicle to continue with his dubious act and the victim managed to open the door and escaped,” Ngoepe explained.

Police have requested for ‘Mr Moodley’, whom they believe can assist with investigations, to go to the Westenburg Police Station or to the nearest police station. Furthermore, police are appealing to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect to contact Detective Sergeant Chuene Selolo at 083 350 3763; the crime stop number 0860010111; the crime Line SMS 32211 or the nearest police station.
