Another head-on collision occured on the N1 between Mookgophong and Modimolle early this morning (Thursday), causing traffic to be deviated along the R101.
According to Department of Transport and Community Safety Spokesperson Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala, the driver of a Toyota light delivery vehicle allegedly lost control and collided head on with a Volkswagen Polo sedan at around 05:30. Moremi-Taueatsoala estimated that the road would be closed for three to four hours.
Traffic from Polokwane will be directed to off-ramp to the R101 before Mookgophong and those traveling north from Kranskop, will also be directed to the R101 at the Mookgophong off-ramp. “We will not confirm fatalities until the scene is cleared and that will be communicated by the Police as it is a culpable homicide case,” he said.
