#KidnappedTeacher: Two suspects arrested outside Lephalale

A 28-year-old teacher was found in the bushes near Mokopane after being kidnapped and gang raped.

LIMPOPO – An intelligence-driven joint operation in the Lephalale cluster led to the arrest of two suspects (aged 18 and 20-years-old) for the kidnapping and gang rape of a 28-year-old woman.

the suspects broke into the victim’s house on Friday, 23 November while she was sleeping and tied her with ropes, loaded her inside the boot of her car and drove away with her.

The victim was later found dumped in the bushes along the road to Bakenburg, outside Mokopane and she was immediately taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The operation followed these suspects around the clock since Friday morning, 23 November, until they were tracked down in two separate areas outside Lephalale.

“During the arrest, one of the suspects was found in possession of the ignition keys of the victim’s car and later, the victim’s car was found abandoned in bushes near Marken,” explained police spokepserson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

 

Police have opened cases of house breaking with intent to commit crime, kidnapping, armed robbery and rape. The suspects will appear before the local magistrates court soon.

Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has applauded Lephalale’s Cluster Commander, Brigadier Masia and his team for a job well done in solving this matter within 24 hours.
