Gang raped, kidnapped teacher found in bushes near Mokopane

Police say preliminary investigations have revealed that two of the suspects involved are well known to the victim as she taught them

LIMPOPO – Police in Villa Nora, under the Lephalale Cluster, have launched a massive manhunt for a group of suspects involved in the kidnapping of a 28-year-old female educator at a high school near Marken on the outskirts of Lephalale.

According to police spokesperson, the suspects broke into the victim’s house on Friday, 23 November while she was sleeping and tied her with ropes, loaded her inside the boot of her car and drove away with her.

The victim was later found dumped in the bushes along the road to Bakenburg, outside Mokopane and she was immediately taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Police say preliminary investigations have revealed that two of the suspects involved are well known to the victim as she taught them and stay in the same area as she does. It was also detected that the suspects made turns in gang raping the victim and dumped her, still tied, in the bushes before they fled the scene with her blue Polo (DWN 574 L).

Ngoepe says cases of house breaking with intent to commit crime, kidnapping and rape have been opened.

“Police are requesting Phinias Kgomo to come to Villa Nora police station or to go the nearest police station, to assist with investigations in this matter.
