Shoprite and Checkers are giving away 150 brand new Volkswagen Up vehicles to the lucky winners of their nationwide ‘Win a Car’ Festive Season competition.
The competition has commenced at all Checkers and Shoprite outlets and it will end on 24 December. To enter, customers must spend R100 or more at any Shoprite, Checkers, Shoprite or Checkers LiquorShop store, excluding Usave and MediRite, or buy any of the over 50 participating brands.
These products can be found in the clearly marked ‘Win a Car’ displays at the end of the shopping aisles in stores. For example, a customer who spends R100 and buys Pampers nappies as well as Sasko bread will receive three competition entries – one for the R100 spent and two additional entries for purchasing participating products.
In a press statement issued last Thursday, Willie Peters, General Manager for Marketing at Shoprite and Checkers was quoted to have said: “To ensure a fantastic Festive Season for our customers, Shoprite and Checkers is running South Africa’s biggest car giveaway for the third year running. This is our way of thanking customers for their unwavering support this past year. In addition to offering the very best products at the most affordable prices, this year’s competition will be even bigger because there are more participating brands ensuring more qualifying entries for shoppers and we have added Shoprite and Checkers LiquorShops to the mix.”
“Qualifying customers will receive a printed competition till slip at the check-out counter and simply need to follow the instructions on this slip in order to enter via USSD code or SMS. There is no limit on how many times customers may enter the competition between 5 November and Monday 24 December, and entries are valid for the duration of cars this Festive Season,” the statement read.
VW Up is one Volkswagen’s smallest passenger vehicles and retails for R172 000. It has exceptional interior space and is an ultramodern interpretation of the classic Volkswagen design.
