Olifanstpoort plant out of operation again, says the Municipality

Lepelle Northern Water says they don't know how long repairs are going to take as the road to the plant is being blocked by the local community.

POLOKWANE – The Olifantspoort Plant is out of operation yet again, this time due to multiple power dips that are being experienced.

Technicians are en route to address the problem but the repair time frame cannot be confirmed as yet as the road to the plant is blocked by the local community, again. The matter, however, is being attended to.

As a result, the Polokwane Municipality says all areas of supply including the city, Seshego, Lebowakgomo and Màja Chuene will be affected and continue to experience shortages until the situation at the plant is resolved.

The municipality will continue supplying water through tankers to affected areas until the situation improves.

“Residents in areas receiving water are advised to continue using water sparingly. Water consumption should be limited to domestic consumption only. No watering of lawns and gardens,” the statement concluded.
