Chef Rae’s banana bread is the perfect addition to your festive table

She shared this simple to make banana bread recipe with Review.

POLOKWANE – Banana bread is the perfect way to use over ripe bananas and it’s moist cake-like texture makes it a favourite for a tea party treat.

Kholofelo ‘Chef Rae’ Masemola is the co-owner of BuenoVives in Seshego Zone 4 and says banana bread is always top of her list when preparing a tea party menu. She shared this simple to make banana bread recipe with Review.

“Banana bread can also be a festive season treat, so why not whip up a few loaves  with the family this holiday,” Chef Rae says.

Ingredients:
• 8 tablespoons of margarine
• 1 cup of sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tbls of milk
• 1tbls of cinnamon
• 1 tsp of vanilla extract
• 3 medium (very ripe) bananas
• 2 cups of all-purpose flour
• 1tbls of cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon of baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon of salt
• Bowl
• Wooden spoon to mix
How to prepare it:
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees. Grease your cake tin.
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon in a bowl.
In a separate bowl mix the margarine, sugar and eggs.
Add the mashed bananas to the egg mixture.


Stir banana mixture into flour mixture. Transfer the butter in your cake tin and bake it for 45 minutes.
Remove it from the oven and allow the sponge to cool down for 10 minutes before serving.
