Shortages expected as high temperatures increase water usage, says Muni

The municipality says there has been a rapid decline in reservoir levels due to high consumption

POLOKWANE – Residents in the city and Seshego are alerted to the rapid decline of reservoir levels due to high consumption associated with the rise in high temperatures, says the Polokwane Municipality.

Some high catchment areas in the city are already without water and others are reporting low pressure.

The municipality says Lepelle Northern Water’s pump station 3 also experienced power dips for about two hours this morning, but has since been sorted and is pumping at full steam.

The public have therefore been advised to take the warning about watering of lawns seriously, as this is the main source of high consumption.
