Business is a piece of cake for this self taught baker

Rochelle Losper from Nirvana has been baking for 28 years now and knows the importance of using only the best quality ingredients in order to have a growing clientele.

POLOKWANE – “How I got into the baking industry is a sad story, really. I had ordered a teddy bear design birthday cake for my daughter, from a very popular cake baker in the city and on the day of collection we were disappointed as the cake was not what I ordered, and I was not going to disappoint my daughter on her big day. So I went home and made a Donald Duck cake. I was also astonished by the end product, it was beautiful and every one enjoyed it. From that moment onward I never looked back.”

Rochelle says that it took many years of trying and failing several times, which made her improve on her cake designing and baking skills. “I never went to baking school, but anything a client tells me they want in a cake I am able to make. It takes time to get a well designed cake to come out right, which is why I say it is important to be patient and take your time to make a beautiful cake,” she added.

In striving for success, she said people need to keep trying to reach their goals and dreams, irrespective of resources and factors that may hinder progression.

With the help of her family, she is able to cater for different events and themes, modern/western, tradition, formal and informal, and kiddies events, offering her clients good quality service.

“This is my pride and passion, and therefore my clients are able to get nothing but the best from me, and in my 28 years of baking I have always received good remarks and positive feedback from clients,” she concluded.
