Blue trees for Diabetes in Mokopane

The staff of Folang Medical Centre in Mokopane have decided to dress the trees in Thabo Mbeki Drive in blue cloth as part of their diabetes awareness campaign.

MOKOPANE – Mokgabo Senoamadi, Manager at Folang Medical Centre, said the purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of a condition that millions of people all around the world live with every day.

“We want to create an awareness campaign that would be visible to many and what better way to dress the trees in the main road in blue.  We also have mobile clinics at various places where anyone can get tested for diabetes. Our campaign runs from 12 November in Mokopane and Polokwane and will conclude with a Diabetes Day at Mahwelereng Stadium outside Mokopane on Saturday, 17 November.”

12 November – Shoprite taxi rank 8:30-16:00

13 November – Zebediela Plaza Complex  8:30 – 16:00

14 November – Light a candle for Diabetes at Mokopane Folang Medical Centre 14h00-16h00

15 November – Checkers Caltex Taxi Rank 8:30 – 16:00

16 November – Mahwelereng Complex 8:30-16:00

17 November – Family Diabetes day at Mahwelereng Stadium 6:00-14:00

Look out for Folang Mobile Clinics in Polokwane at the following dates and locations:

12 November – Indian Centre taxi rank8:30-16:00.

13 November – Pick n Pay taxi rank 8:30-16:00.

14 Nobember – Staff will wrap the trees at the SABC Park in blue and do diabetes testing from 8:30-16:00. The trees will remain in blue until end of November.

15 November – Mashashane Taxi Rank 8:30-16:00.
