Two masked men flee following house robbery in Musina

One suspect was arrested by police and residents in the area and further investigations will be conducted to establish whether or not he is linked to the robbery

LIMPOPO – Police in Musina have launched a manhunt for unknown suspects following a house robbery in the early hours of this morning, 4 November in Eagles Landing.

According to police spokesperson, Constable Maphure Manamela, a 26-year-old woman was sleeping with her siblings when two men wearing masks forced themselves into the house through the sliding door before threatening the victims and ransacking the house.

“During the process the suspects managed to get away with two televisions, shoes, documents, bedding, blankets and cash and the total estimated value of the robbed items is R24 350,” she explained.

The suspects fled the scene on foot but the victim blew a whistle for help. The police responded swiftly to the scene and with the assistance of the community, one person was arrested next to another house.

“The suspect will be charged for contravening the Illegal Immigration Act and further investigations will be conducted to establish whether he is linked to the robbery. He will appear before the Musina Magistrates Court court, soon,” Manamela said.

Police are appealing to anyone with information which can lead to the apprehension of the suspects to contact the police emergency number 0860010111, the crime sms line 32211 or the nearest police station.
