Obstructions by motorists will not be tolerated in our streets, says the municipality

Drivers who obstruct traffic in the city will be issued a hefty fine and risk the chance of having their vehicles towed, warns the Polokwane Municipality.

POLOKWANE – This warning comes after the Police two vehicles who parked wrongfully were towed in Landdros Mare street this morning.

“Local traffic officers issued a total of 11 fines to drivers who parked wrongfully and towed two vehicles which were obstructing traffic and causing a traffic jam on Landdros Maré Street this morning,” said the municipality in a statement.

Assistant Superintendent Kgaugelo Mpyana has urged motorists to always respect the rules of the roads.

“Parking at an entrance, parallel or behind another motor vehicle is an obstruction offence and will result in R500 fine ticket,” he stated.
