LIMPOPO – According to Police spokesperson, Constable Maphure Manamela, the police received a tip-off about suspects robbing a local hardware store, reacted swiftly and attempted to intercept the suspects along the N1 South. “A car chase ensued and the suspects were finally stopped and arrested just outside Makhado. During the arrest a box of coins packed in money bags, a jamming device and other housebreaking implements were confiscated. Three vehicle, a Toyota Etios, Two Mercede-Benz and a Hyundai suspected to have been used during the commission of this crime were also seized,” she said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the vehicles was linked to a carjacking in Mamelodi around Gauteng Province. More arrests are expected soon, Manamela added.
Six suspects appeared before Makhado magistrate’s Court yesterday on charges of business robbery and are expected to reappear in the same court on 5 Novemberfor a formal bail application.
