Frans Molomo (28) was convicted of rape.

MOKOPANE – A man who raped a woman on the corner of Meintjies and Taylor Street on Sunday afternoon, 23 September, was sentenced to 10 years in jail.

Sgt Irene Masingi, Spokesperson of the Mokopane police, said the victim was on her way to meet a friend when Frans Molomo (28) ambushed her on the corner of Meintjie and Taylor Street. Molomo dragged the woman into the bushes and raped her.

Molomo also robbed her of her cell phone and R100.” He appeared in the Mokopane Regional Court last Monday, 15 October, and was found guilty and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
