Mrs Polokwane 2019 finalist raises money to stop human trafficking

Mrs Polokwane 2019 finalist, Charlene Geswind, choose STOP - Stop Trafficking of People as her charity to support during her journey as finalist.

POLOKWANE – As part of these duties she hosted a Human Trafficking Awareness Workshop as well as a fundraising event, Mom&Me Inspiration Session in June where mothers were informed about human trafficking.

STOP Trafficking is an abbreviation that means Stop Trafficking Of People. It is a registered non-profit Christian organisation which aims to confront all aspects of human trafficking within South Africa and the rest of Africa.

With the proceeds from these events on Tuesday afternoon she handed over a cheque of R5 000 to Nobza Java, team member of STOP in Limpopo. During the handover Charlene thanked STOP for their support throughout her pageant journey so far.
“”It is nice to know that your charity has your back and I will love to work with them again in the future.”
Nobza also thanked Charlene not only for the money raised but for the opportunity to be part of her journey. “The workshop was so much fun, especially with the police brass band playing. We all learned that we should not stay in our own corner, but to get out and help each other.”
During the workshop one of the guests designed a safety hand that are now being used across South Africa by STOP.
