POLOKWANE -If someone has asked you to provide protection from yourself lately, the only reason why that sentence would make sense to you is because you’ve probably seen SARS’ Chief Officer for Digital Information Services and Technology officer, Mmamathe Makhekhe-Mokhuane’s interview on SABC.

The interview, which took South Africa by storm recently, has been the talk of the town and the subject of hundreds of memes. If you haven’t seen the interview, Makhekhe-Mokhuane was interviewed live on SABC regarding the state of SARS’ failing eFiling system and the highlight of the interview came when she asked the anchor to provide “protection from yourself”.

In true South African fashion, Daaf Vapor, a South African guitarist, singer and songwriter, uploaded a song to his Soundcloud page which is a remix of Makhekhe-Mokhuane’s interview, titled ‘Can You Give Me Protection From Yourself?’.
Since her interview, Makhekhe-Mokhuane has apologised for her behaviour, saying there was no excuse or justification for it.
