LIMPOPO – Thlako Lodwick Chuene attacked his 76-year-old neighbour while she was sitting outside her house on the evening of 11 December at about 21:30. He dragged her into the house and raped her, said Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngeoepe.
“During this ordeal, the victim screamed for help and the accused’s wife came, found her husband at the scene but he dismissed the incident as if nothing happened. He then threatened the victim that if she can revealed this incident, he is going to burn her to death when she was sleeping in her house,” Ngoepe added.
The crime was reported to the Police and after investigations the accused was apprehended.
Police commissioner Lt Genl Nneke Ledwaba has commended the Mahwelereng Cluster Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit for the job well done.
“This incarceration will send a clear message to all the criminals out there that anyone who is still perpetrating this type of crime, will be dealt with mercilessly and without compromise,” concluded General Ledwaba.
