Noorderland High School’s Grade 12 learners proved that they have a good fashion sense as they walked down the red carpet in stylish suits and dresses to attend their matric dance themed ‘Great Gatsby’ at a venue outside the city on Friday.
Grade 12 Head Girlina Mashego said the dance was aimed at motivating and preparing the learners mentally ahead of the National Senior Certificate examinations. She further said the event was attended by 93 out of 190 matrics. She added that, seeing them so well dressed and looking so impressive, she wished she could turn back the hands of time.
Proud parents and relatives were present to capture the moment when the evening’s guests of honour arrived, as is custom, in fancy cars and motorbikes and showed off their best moves.
Mashego said the school was aiming for a 100% pass rate this year and added that she was certain that learners would overcome all the obstacles they were going to encounter during the exams.
