Premier’s office warns of scammer pretending to be Chupu Mathabatha

The Office of the Premier in Limpopo has issued a warning to all citizens, and especially friends and colleagues and government employees, about an impersonator who calls himself the Limpopo Premier Chupu Stan Mathabatha.

POLOKWANE – The modus operandi of the impersonator, according to Kenny Mathivha, Spokesperson of the Premier, is to call the potential victim and request for urgent cash which should be deposited into Shoprite or any quick cash shop. “Earlier tricks included promises of a business deal and a plan to get lucrative tenders,” Mathivha said.

Mathivha requested anyone who might receive such a request to immediately report it to the nearest law enforcement agency or the South African Police Services ( SAPS).

“The Limpopo Premier has never, and will not call any of his colleagues either in the NEC, Cabinet, PEC or anywhere else for monetary assistance or tendering. Such activities are foreign to him, “ Mathivha said.
