POLOKWANE – The suspect in the matter was denied bail by the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Tuesday, 25 September).
The resident of Harare, Zimbabwe faces nine counts of culpable homicide and a charge of reckless and/or negligent driving and is set to reappear before the court on 2 October, says Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The driver was involved in the horrific bus crash which claimed nine lives outside Polokwane on Friday, 21 September and was arrested while attempting to cross the border into Zimbabwe illegally.
According to previous article the suspect together with the other 51 injured passengers were taken to a hospital for medical treatment, but, after his discharge he fled towards the Beit Bridge Port of Entry. “As the process of intensive investigations by the Police was unfolding, especially on the possible cause of that accident, he attempted to cross the border in Zimbabwe illegally by hiding inside a goods trailer,” Ngoepe explained.
