A two day planned water shutdown was planned for this week in order to connect a new 400m bypass pipeline

“They are currently busy with line and reservoir filling enroute to Polokwane and it would therefore take some time before the water reaches Polokwane,” the Municipality said.

Affected areas include parts of the city, Seshego, Mankweng, Chuene/Maja and areas outside Polokwane such as Lebowakgomo, Mphahlele and Zebediela.

The municipality says it will continue with the deployment of water tankers until the situation improves and has urged residents in areas receiving water to continue using water with high care.

“Supply from other sources such as the Ebenezer plant, Dalmada plant and underground water systems is functioning in full capacity,” they added.

The Municipality says water supply to Polokwane is expected to improve following the installation of this new connection as breakdowns from Olifantspoort will be reduced.
