Double murder accused Rameez Patel will appear in the Limpopo High Court again in November to continue with the trial in connection with the alleged killing of his wife Fatima in April 2015.
This after the case was postponed on Monday, apparently for Patel to make arrangements to appoint a new attorney after Tumi Mokwena reportedly withdrew from the case.
Patel also faces a charge of murder after his mother Mahejeen was allegedly shot and killed by what is believed to have been a hitman in September last year. He will appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court again on 4 October. In one of many turns of events in the Patel saga, Ali Salman who allegedly shot Patel’s brother, Razeen four times in July, will appear in the Mankweng Regional Court again on 2 November.
This incident occurred a day before Razeen was expected to testify against his brother. Razeen is currently living abroad for his own protection.
In the meantime Police have not made any arrests in the latest event during which Patel’s father-in-law, Yunus Mayet was allegedly kidnapped from his home in Ster Park, shot execution style and left along the Silicon road outside Polokwane earlier this month. The incident purportedly has no link to the Patel’s cases.
