Police are still in the process of identifying the eleven people who perished in a bus accident on the N1 South between Mookgophong and Mokopane on Monday.
The N1 was reopened just after midday after being closed for about six hours following the fatal accident in which a further nine people were seriously and another 30 slightly injured. One of two critically injured passengers was airlifted to Pietersburg Provincial Hospital.
Spokesperson for the Department of Transport and Community Safety, Matome Moremi-Taueatsoala said some of the injured were also taken to FH Odendaal and Voortrekker hospitals in Modimolle and Mokopane respectively
He said that the bus belonging to a Zambian transport company was transporting people from Zambia to Johannesburg when the accident occurred.
