Work on the connection of the bypass of the Specon pipe line from the Olifantspoort water treatment plant was completed in the early hours of today (Thursday) and pumping to the city resumed at 04:00.
This comes after reservoir levels dropped drastically since the work started on Tuesday morning, leaving residents without water since yesterday.
Communications and Marketing Manager of Polokwane Municipality, Matshidiso Mothapo said that it will take some time before the water reaches Polokwane because the command reservoirs along the line have to reach the correct levels first. “The municipality will continue with deployment of water tankers until the situation improves,” Mothapo said.
