Water shortages in high-lying areas of Polokwane are expected and the Polokwane Municipality has once again requested residents to conserve water as reservoir levels are critically low.
Municipal communications and marketing manager Matshidiso Mothapo said this was due to constant breakdowns experienced by Lepelle Northern Water. High positioned areas including parts of Seshego, the CBD, parts of Flora Park, Serala View, Ster Park and Bendor would experience constant shortages.
“Lepelle is concluding the construction of a bypass line to ensure that there are no disruptions to Polokwane’s water supply while they install a new line. The bypass is expected to be finished by the end of September,” he explained.
“Play your part. Continue to use water sparingly,” Mothapo concluded.
