POLOKWANE – Municipal spokesperson, Disree Manyane, says all South African citizens are welcome to visit the reserve at no cost upon presentation of a South African ID. If they want to use a municipal vehicle it is at a cost of R876 for a maximum of 20 people, she adds.
Many people are not aware of the Polokwane Game Reserve located on their doorstep on the Silicon road a short distance outside the city. The game reserve has a rich variety with over 20 species mammals and over 300 bird species calling the lush bushveld, thornveld and grassveld of the reserve home.
There is also a variety of hiking and cycling trails throughout the reserve as well as a large braai area.
The Polokwane Game Reserve is open between 07:00 and 16:00.
Be sure to bring your South African ID book with you if you want to make use of the Mahala Week and enjoy the beauty of nature and Limpopo tourism.
