Reservoir levels critically low following shutdown at the Olifantspoort plant

All areas of supply are affected, says the Polokwane Municipality

POLOKWANE – According to a statement released by the Polokwane Municipality, Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) finished with repairs last night and immediately started filling the lines.

The water, however, has not yet reached the city and reservoirs in the city and Seshego are critically low with two in the city at 0%.

All areas of supply are affected and the municipality urges residents in areas with supply to limit water usage.

POLOKWANE – According to a statement released by the Municipality, notice was received from Lepelle Northern Water that the Olifantspoort plant has been stopped due to emergency repairs on Specon pipeline leak.

All supply areas from Olifantspoort including the city, Seshego, Zebediela, Lebowakgomo and rural areas will be affected and experience shortages for the rest of the day whilst repairs continue.

“We urge residents who have water supply to limit water usage and not water lawns and gardens. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this unplanned incident,” the Municipality concluded.
