Netcare celebrates and toasts to 20 years

Limpopo Netcare 911 Emergency Services in Polokwane this year celebrates a remarkable milestone - saving lives for two decades.

POLOKWANE – The team celebrated this special anniversary in a quick manner, in keeping with that the nature of their work requires them to have speedy responses to emergencies in order to ensure they help save lives.

“It was a challenge and difficult for us to reach this milestone. Accidents happen almost every day and quick, fast response at accident scenes are crucial and enable us to assist medical practitioners to save lives. This is why we saw it fit to celebrate this milestone with our team to thank them for all the hard work they do and their continued efforts to ensure we live up to our mission of saving lives,” Kenneth van Whye, Regional Manager of Limpopo Netcare 911 Emergency Services, explained.

“We are grateful that the organisation has been able to deliver on their objective which is to uphold the sanctity of life by providing outstanding emergency medical service to our communities over the last two decades.

“Today Netcare 911’s 24-hour national emergency operations centre manages close to a million calls a year, and the company operates from 79 bases with 200 ambulances and emergency response vehicles strategically based in all nine provinces of South Africa.

It is also one of the largest emergency medical service providers on the African continent,” said Richard Friedland Chief Executive Officer at Netcare Ltd and Craig Grindell, Managing Director of Netcare 911.
